We're a couple of gals from country NSW, Australia, who love to travel. Whether that's an epic overseas adventure or a lazy Sunday exploring the local area, it's all good. We love writing and photography, so a travel blog of our own makes sense.
We're hoping this will be kind of an inspiration as well as informative. When we talk about our travels, we often hear things such as; 'I wish I could go there' or 'I don't know how you can do all that'. It's really not that hard and the biggest piece of advice we can offer is JUST DO IT! We're chicks, we're small, our health isn't one hundred percent, we have fears, but we know our limitations and there are countless places to see and things to do that fit within those. And yeah, sometimes we do get worried and things aren't always smooth sailing but that's part of the adventure.
The next best piece of advice we can offer is IT'S ALL PART OF THE EXPERIENCE. Whatever happens, it's going to make a great story. We've missed flight connections, we just caught the next plane. We've stumbled into bad neighbourhoods, we stumbled back out. And while those things may sound intimidating, you'll find that the more you travel, the smoother it'll become. Two main things contribute to that. One is obviously experience; travelling is a constant learning process. The other is that you'll get to know yourself and how you operate much better. That's a big part of enjoying travel.
The third piece of essential advice we can offer is KNOW YOURSELF. Everyone is an individual, we all like different things, we all have our own comfort zones, and while some people will tell you that you have to push beyond them that isn't necessarily true. Sure you can have amazing experiences when you do this but if there's something that really scares you and you don't want to do it, just don't. Just because everyone else who went to New York went to the top of the Empire State Building, doesn't mean you have to. If you're terrified of heights, you'd be better off cutting it from the itinerary and focusing on what you do like, rather than spending half the trip freaking out about it and pushing yourself to do something you won't enjoy.
What we're trying to say is that if we can manage to get out there and see the world, anyone can. Now let's get onto the good stuff. Who's got their bucket list ready? Lace up those boots, take a deep breath and get out there. Time to start living those dreams...
